Interpreting Your BMI
- Underweight (< 18.5): You may need to gain weight for optimal health.
- Normal (18.5 – 24.9): Excellent — maintain your current lifestyle.
- Overweight (25 – 29.9): Consider balancing diet and exercise.
- Obese (30 +): Consult a health professional for guidance.
BMI is a useful screening tool but does not measure fat directly. Athletes with high muscle mass can have high BMI but low body fat.
